The assassination of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un's half brother Kim
Jong-nam is sending shock waves throughout the world. According to news reports, Kim Jong-nam was attacked by two unidentified women at the international airport in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Kim Jong-nam was the only credible threat against Kim Jong-un, and it is very clear that the Chinese government favored Kim Jong-nam as an alternative to Kim Jong-un should the Chinese government want regime change. Whether Kim Jong-un ordered the assassination of Kim Jong-nam needs to be confirmed. However, there is no doubt that Kim Jong-un had every reason to kill his half-brother. This leaves Kim Jong-nam's son, Kim Han-sol, as the only real threat to Kim Jong-un and an alternative to Kim Jong-un if the Chinese government wants regime change. Kim Han-sol is under French police protection at present and may soon go into hiding. Given the propensity of the Kim family to murder ordinary people, former defectors to South Korea, members of the North Korean Workers Party, or Kim family
members, I see NO outrage from the Korean liberals or political left for the murder of Kim Jong-nam. I see
plenty of hate and rage against South Korean Park Geun-hye who was impeached under questionable
circumstances but has murdered no one. I have to ask where the Korean political left's priorities are?! It
apparently does not matter that former North Korean dictator Kim Il-sung murdered 3 million people in his
lifetime, and that his son Kim Jong-il let 3 million North Koreans die in a famine caused by North Korea's
disastrous agricultural policies. But I guess this means nothing to the South Korean political left, who can
operate in a democracy knowing full well they will not be rounded up by any secret police, or shot. I find
it sad and distasteful that there are those who would be more than happy with a murderous dictator than
living in a democracy with a far, far better standard of living and an elected president.
